Patriots running back Dion Lewis is one of the latest fantasy football studs to be lost for the season.

This is getting depressing. This is my first year writing an add column. Every week, every single week, a big name player (or two) goes down for the season, or at the very least a few weeks.

Second verse, same as the first...or same as the first eight. The names have changed a little. This week the names are Ben Roethlisberger (this one is kinda the same), Andrew Luck (okay, okay, he was out earlier also), and Dion Lewis. The other names on the list are guys that might get the nod this week: LeSean McCoy, Latavius Murray, Teddy Bridgewater, Eddie Lacy, Allen Hurns and Malcom Floyd.

That’s a pretty decent list, again. Fortunately, for everyone outside of Lewis, they are not serious injuries (easy for me to say). Lewis tore his ACL, so we won’t be seeing him until next year. Enough about the doom and gloom, here are the players to add this week.

Stream Weavers (week-to-week adds).

Quarterbacks (vs. - ownership %):

Blake Bortles (Jax) @ Bal - 55%.

Don’t look now but Bortles is the 9th ranked QB in fantasy, and this week, he has an alright matchup against the Ravens. By alright, I mean VERY GOOD. Even if you don’t want to start Bortles this week, add him anyway. Bortles' fantasy playoff matchups are great. He could win you a championship. Who thought we would be saying that before the season?

Kirk Cousins (Was) v NO - 8.8%.

Yes, I said Kirk Cousins. Cousins hasn’t been too terribly bad this season. His ranking disagrees with me, of course. Cousins likes to be an equal opportunity distributor, some to his team, some to the other. I wouldn’t expect that this week. Marcus Mariota TRIED to throw an interception to the Saints last week, and they gave the ball to the Titans TE. That was sweet of them. Cousins should get you top 12-15 numbers this week.

Teddy Bridgewater (Min) @Oak - 23.7%.

First things first, Bridgewater needs to pass the concussion protocol. So far, things are encouraging for Teddy. Oakland has a top notch offense which helps the case for Bridgewater. Minnesota hasn’t been in a ton of shootouts, but they will need to this game. Oakland’s defense will be more than willing to help with that (ask Pittsburgh).

Running Backs:

James Starks (GB) v Det - 40.5%.

Starks has easily been the best back in GB this season. Lacy left the last game with an ankle injury and just flat out hasn’t been good. Starks, as the lead back in that offense against Detroit, is pretty appealing. He’s the top waiver add this week.

Karlos Williams (Buf) @ NYJ - 41.5% - TNF.

Karlos with a K has been awesome. As a Florida State fan, I wish he was this good last season. Shady McCoy left the game with a shoulder injury and might not play in the Thursday Night Football game. The Jets are a good run defense, however, if he gets the nod as the starter, he’s a must start. He’s a flex option even if McCoy does play. In season-long leagues, if you don’t need a back to start this week, he’s the guy to prioritize.

Charles Sims (TB) v Dal - 51%.

Sims was the lead back last week. That was only because the Muscle Hamster fumbled. Sims didn’t want Doug Martin to feel bad,, so Sims put it on the ground also. Sims isn’t the lead back, but he still gets a lot of run. He’s a must add for RB needy teams.

Isaiah Crowell (Cle) @Pitt - 53.8%.

Robert Turbin was waived by the Browns today. That leaves Crowell as the primary running downs back for the Browns. Pittsburgh will give up some yards. Crowell is also the goal line guy. I’m trying to add him after the Turbin news. Starting RB on a team…

Alfred Morris (Was) v NO - 58.4%.

Before you start to agree with Peter and Trace about my “bad habits,” Matt Jones fumbled...again. Morris has a great matchup, and I wouldn’t be surprised if Morris gets the start and the majority of the carries. I am a Jones supporter, but he needs to use the gloves that Odell Beckham has been using. Morris has a nice floor, and, at RB these days, a floor is nice to walk on.

Wide Receivers:

Devante Adams (GB) v Det - 59.1%.

Adams is healthy. Detroit, not unlike myself, is very generous. Adams is the second option in GB, make no mistake about it. This is a week to start him, and I would expect a pretty good game. Top 20 WR this week.

Brandon LaFell (NE) @ NYG - 56.6%.

LaFell caught a few passes. With that, he had over 100 yards. Lewis is out for the season, so everyone on the offense gets a bump. The Giants gave up seven TDs a couple of weeks ago. I think that NE remembers the last couple times they played NYG.

Marvin Jones (Cin) v Hou - 40.9%.

Jones is a very tough guy to start every week. He’s a bit of a boom or bust player. He has been good more than he’s been bad. Houston has been pretty good against the pass, but Cincinnati has been good against everyone. He’s a very solid start

Tight Ends:

Eric Ebron (Det) @ GB - 28.5.

Ebron is coming off a bye. It's the perfect time to grab him. Ebron, when healthy, has been good. GB has given up production to TEs. You can grab Ebron for this week, then hold him for the remainder of the season. He is the Lions #2 pass catcher at this point

Kyle Rudolph (Min) @Oak - 22.8%.

Your weekly Oakland opponent.

Richard Rodgers (GB) vDet - 29.7.

He’s boom or bust. He’s never going to have a big yardage game but could find the end zone against a terrible Lions LB group.

The best streaming option under 60% for defense is the Steelers against the Browns. Not ideal, so check to see who you have before adding them. If you need a kicker, Connor Barth.

Long Haul (season-long adds).

  • Tony Romo (QB, Dal) - He’s still under 60% owned. That leaves some 12-team leagues that have him on the wire. Add him, he’s back in a couple weeks.
  • Derek Carr (QB, Oak) - Unacceptable, he needs to be added in all leagues, yesterday.
  • Michael Floyd (WR, Ari) - He’s healthy, and he’s good. He’s a WR3 at worst.
  • Dorial Green-Beckham (WR, Ten) - He’s getting involved in the offense. A lot of smart people are comparing him to Julio. I won’t go there...yet.
  • Devin Funchess (WR, Car) - He caught 4-5 targets. That’s not how Ginn taught him!
  • Kamar Aiken (WR, Bal) - He’s the top option for Joe Flacco.
  • Austin Sefarian-Jenkins (TE, TB) - He might play sometime this season, when he does, he should do good things.
  • Shaun Draughn (RB, SF) - Keep an eye on the Carlos Hyde situation, Pierre Thomas was cut today.

Everyone on this list is 60% owned or under. I hope that you’ve been able to withstand all of these injuries. Sometimes it’s hard to watch.

Happy Hunting
