Listen to the AFC West preview podcast.
The Denver Broncos are the defending Super Bowl Champions. The Kansas City Chiefs made it to the second round of the NFL playoffs last season. The Oakland Raiders are a solid young team. And the San Diego Chargers should be better than they were last year. All-in-all the AFC West should be one of the best divisions in the NFL in 2016.
Of course, the Broncos are without Peyton Manning and without a known starting quarterback. The Chiefs are entering 2016 with Jamaal Charles returning from his second ACL surgery. The Raiders dynamic duo of Derek Carr and Amari Cooper are young. And the Chargers are the Chargers.
On paper, the two best teams should be the Broncos and the Chiefs. If Jamaal Charles is healthy and hasn't lost a step, he's probably the best fantasy player in the division. C.J. Anderson could have the breakout this year everyone thought he was going have last year. In reality, however, the two best teams for fantasy are probably the Raiders and the Chargers. The Raiders have a must-draft quarterback, running back, and two wide receivers. The Chargers similarly have a draftable quarterback, a wide receiver, possibly two, a tight end, and two running backs. This division will be fun to watch.
