Un-Waivering Love Week 11

Players you should target in your league's Week 10 Waiver Wire. Scoring is ESPN 1/2 point PPR scoring. Owned Percentages using ESPN.

BONUS TIP: Week 11 marks the end of bye weeks which means your focus on Waiver adds needs to start changing a bit as well. Instead of thinking so much about streamers and weekly matchups, start focusing on solidifying your starting lineups for a playoff push and playoffs themselves. For example, instead of adding that RB flier that may have a decent matchup next week, add your RB1 and maybe even RB2's handcuff (player that would fill in for them should they be injured). Another strategy I like to implement is looking 1 week ahead on Defense matchups (for example looking at Week 12 matchups this week) and carrying 2 D/ST's. Again, I am caring less about depth and more about my most quality starting lineup.

For Eli Manning Week 11 home game against the Chiefs who are 28th against QB's could be a bright spot in an otherwise extremely disappointing season

For Eli Manning Week 11 home game against the Chiefs who are 28th against QB's could be a bright spot in an otherwise extremely disappointing season

QUARTERBACKS

Eli Manning NYG 18.9 Week 10 points. Available in 52% of leagues. Okay bear with me on these next two. Yes I am aware of what Eli and the Giants as a whole have been in 2017. BUT, if you need a one week streamer to replace Cam Newton or Josh McCown in a deeper league for Week 11, Eli may be the way to go. The Chiefs are ranked 28th against QB's and 7th against RB's, so to compete the Giants will HAVE to throw and over the last 4 weeks Eli has thrown 6 TD's and just 1 INT in matchups that included Denver, Seattle, and the Rams.

Blake Bortles JAX 17.3 Week 10 points. Available in 85% of leagues. I promise I haven't gone crazy. For many of the same reasons Eli is a good stream, so might Bortles. Cleveland is 26th against QB's this year and despite all their faults are excellent at stopping the run, which is Jacksonville's bread and butter. The Browns have also allowed 19 passing TD's to only 6 INT's, which is by far Bortles biggest weakness.

NOTE: Case Keenum MIN is worth a mention. The Abilene native's 304 yds and 4 TD game against the Redskins was absolutely amazing, but I wouldn't pick him. Take away the 2 games against the Redskins, Buccaneers, and Browns, who are all bottom 10 against QB's, and he hasn't scored more than 15 pts in a game. Every Vikings opponent for rest of the season is in the top half of the league against QB's.

RUNNING BACKS

Rex Burkhead NE 13.8 Week 10 points. Available in 88% of leagues. It's always nerve-wracking playing a Patriots RB, but over the past 2 weeks since returning from injury it seems Burkhead has carved out a steady role. The former Bengal has resumed the job of slot-receiver RB that he played in Cincinnati and has put up double digit games in two consecutive weeks. Combine that with up coming games against Oakland, Miami twice, and Buffalo twice Rex Burkhead is my top RB add for Week 11.

Austin Ekeler LAC 24.4 Week 10 points. Available in 98% of leagues. If you are a Melvin Gordon owner this needs to be your #1 Waiver priority. The undrafted rookie from DII Western State has been textbook boom or bust this season. He has scored more than 12 points in the 3 games he has scored TD's, in games he hasn't scored he has scored less than 5 points a game. However it looks like the Chargers are trying to get him more involved with 19 carries and 10 targets over the last 3 weeks. Even with Gordon healthy, his explosiveness may qualify him for deep-league FLEX consideration.

Jamaal Williams GB 11.3 Week 10 points. Available in 97% of leagues. Jamaal Williams point total wasn't all that impressive in Week 10 but his usage was. Williams racked up 20 carries for 67 yards and threw in a bonus 7 yard catch in the grind-it-out win over the Bears. Williams should continue to be the workhorse back as long as Ty Montgomery and Aaron Jones are banged up in an offense that is trying to hide their QB.

Samaje Perine WAS 6.5 Week 10 points. Available in 94% of leagues. With Rob Kelley suffering a sprained MCL and high ankle sprain it is doubtful he returns in any time to be Fantasy relevant. Enter Samaje Perine and his 3.2 yards per carry. If the Redskins are going to establish any running game at all for the remainder of 2017, it will come through Perine.

Handcuffs/Fliers you should watch: Trey Edmunds NO, Cameron Artis-Payne CAR, JD McKissic SEA, Andre Ellington ARI, Charles Sims TB

In his Bears debut Dontrelle Inman  was the leading WR with 6 catches for 88 yards.

In his Bears debut Dontrelle Inman was the leading WR with 6 catches for 88 yards.

WIDE RECEIVERS

Dontrelle Inman CHI 11.8 Week 10 points. Available in 99% of leagues. The Bears have been missing a big-bodied possession receiver since Cameron Meredith went down. Thus why they traded for the 6'3" 205 lb 4th year Virginia Cavalier. Inman had fallen out of favor with the Chargers despite averaging 50 yds a game in 2016, but built instant chemistry with Trubisky putting up 6 catches and 88 yards in his first game as a Bear. He should instantly become the number 1 target in a suffering passing game.

Marquise Goodwin SF 16.6 Week 10 points. Available in 90% of leagues. Marquise Goodwin is completely big play dependent (he had 103 yards on 2 touches Week 10, one 83 yd catch and one 18 yd run). However at some point, these big plays become a pattern. Goodwin has at least 65 receiving yards and 7 fantasy points 4 of the last 5 weeks. He doesn't touch the ball much, but at 21 yds a reception, he turns them into points when he does.

Other Deep-league considerations: Roger Lewis NYG, Donte Moncrief/Chester Rogers IND, Joshua Bellamy CHI, Brandon LaFell CIN, Keelan Cole JAX

TIGHT ENDS

Jermaine Gresham ARI 14.9 Week 10 points. Available in 99% of leagues.  Gresham didn't have much chemistry with Carson Palmer, but Drew Stanton may be a different story. In the two games since Stanton has become the starter Gresham has scored 9.3 and 14.9 Fantasy points and caught a TD in each. Week 11 the Cardinals face the banged-up Texans who are 27th against TE's. So if you are a Jack Doyle or Sefarian-Jenkins owner, Gresham may be worth a look.

Austin Hooper ATL 13.9 Week 10 points. Available in 54% of leagues. Hooper has 6 targets in 3 straight games and a TD in 2 of the last 3. Unfortunately Hooper is also just as likely to put up a 1 point dud as a double-digit game (3 a piece). Although a Week 11 matchup with the Seahawks who just gave up 14.9 points to Jermaine Gresham may warrant a start for him.

If you are in a very deep league Mercedes Lewis JAX is another stream option. He has been targeted 11 times in last 2 weeks and is going against the Cleveland Browns who are 30th against TE's.

Nick Vigil leads the Bengals in tackles with 72 so far in 2017.

Nick Vigil leads the Bengals in tackles with 72 so far in 2017.

DEFENSE/SPECIAL TEAMS

Cincinnati 3 Week 10 points. Available in 62% of leagues. The Bengals defense isn't the powerhouse it has been in previous years but are worth consideration against the Broncos. Denver has allowed at least 3 sacks in 7 of 9 games this year and have given up a defensive TD in 3 of the last 4. If nothing else it is a safe play not having to worry about Osweiller putting up many points.

Un-Waivering Love Week 10

Players you should (and this week a few you shouldn't) target in your league's Week 10 Waiver Wire. Scoring is ESPN 1/2 point PPR scoring. Owned Percentages using ESPN.

QUARTERBACKS

Jared Goff LAR 34.4 Week 9 points. Available in 51% of leagues. How is still a thing? I won't park too much on this because no sense in beating a dead horse. I will just put it like this, unless you have Wilson, Wentz, Smith, Brady, Prescott, Cousins, Stafford, or Brees....you are starting a less productive QB. Even if you have one of those guys, add him just in case now that Bye weeks are slowing down. Should be 100% owned.

Jay Cutler MIA 29.4 Week 9 points. Available in 92% of leagues. Smokin' Jay showed out in his first game not being able to lean on Jay Ajayi after the RB was shipped off to the Eagles, putting up 311 yards 3 TD's and...get this...0 INT's! Cutler might be a decent add if you have Wentz or Smith who are both on bye. Carolina is good against QB's, but they are even better against RB's, so they will need throw to generate offense.

Teddy Bridgewater MIN 0 Week 9 points. Available in 97% of leagues. This is mostly a dynasty/keeper add. It is extremely doubtful he will see Bridgewater in Week 10 after being activated from the PUP list, but not out of the question we see him in 2017. Keep in mind, he is still young (he turns 25 on November 10) and was drafted to be the Vikings QB of the future. Also, take away Case Keenum's dissection of the terrible Tampa Bay secondary, his stat line isn't all that impressive, 206 yards a game with 4 TD's and 3 INT's in 6 games. No promises, but worth a flier if you have the space.

Orleans Darkwa  has emerged as the loan bright spot in what looked to be a sad Giants RB situation, averaging 73 yards a game over the last 4 weeks.

Orleans Darkwa has emerged as the loan bright spot in what looked to be a sad Giants RB situation, averaging 73 yards a game over the last 4 weeks.

RUNNING BACKS

Chris Ivory JAX 11.9 Week 9 points. Available in 54% of leagues. Yes it was without Fournette, but this offense isn't your typical "top 2 WR's and top RB" offense as far as fantasy relevance is concerned.  The Jaguars average 35 rush attempts a game which is first in the league. As much as they would like to, Fournette can't handle all of those. Mix that with his pass catching (he has a 9 catch game this year) and their upcoming slate of easy defenses ( Chargers, Browns, Cardinals, Colts) Chris Ivory should be a decent FLEX option in upcoming weeks.

Orleans Darkwa NYG 8.9 Week 9 points. Available in 59% of leagues. Well it looks like the Giants have finally found their guy for Manning to share backfield hits with. Darkwa has averaged 14 carries 73 yards and 11.1 Fantasy Points since taking over the starting job in Week 5. A Week 10 game traveling to San Francisco who is dead last against RB's and just allowed Adrian Peterson to rush for 159 yards makes him the perfect Bye-week filler if you are a Hunt, Ajayi, or Lynch owner.

Miami RB's Kenyan Drake 13.4 Week 9 points. Available in 42% of leagues. Damien Williams 15.1 Week 9 points. Available in 76% of leagues. The whole world thought this was going to be a 50/50 timeshare, we just thought it would be Drake getting the running and Williams getting the passing. Turns out, against Oakland at least, they split everything with Drake getting 9 carries and 6 catches and Williams getting 7 carries and 6 catches. No one is saying these guys will win you your league, but you have the chance to pick up a team's entire RB scoring this late in the year.

NOTE: Pump the brakes on Cory Clement PHI. Yes he is probably available in your league and yes his 2 rushing and 1 passing TD in Week 9 was fantastic, but it is nowhere near a sign of things to come. There is a reason Philly traded for Ajayi, and now they have a bye week (which is Ajayi's 2nd this season by the way) to get him acclimated to the offense. Clement will be nothing more than a change of pace back for rest of year.

Handcuffs/Fliers you should watch: Thomas Rawls SEA, Jamaal Williams GB, Peyton Barber TB, Malcolm Brown LAR, Elijah McGuire NYJ, D'onta Foreman HOU

WIDE RECEIVERS

Marqise Lee JAX 17.5 Week 9 points. Available in 65% of leagues. Now it may sound like I am talking out of both sides of my mouth from the Chris Ivory section above. Make no mistake, I am not a fan of Jacksonville's pass game, but their #1 WR should absolutely be owned. Also, as stated previously, the Jaguars upcoming defensive matchups are very beatable and Lee is by far best option for Bortles since losing Allen Robinson.

Robby Anderson NYJ 12.8 Week 9 points. Available in 54% of leagues. Robby Anderson is on a 3 game TD streak and is about to face a Tampa Bay secondary that is 31st against WR's and has allowed 9 TD's to the position this year.

Corey Coleman CLE 0 Week 9 points. Available in 92% of leagues. Coleman is designated to return in Week 11, but is worth the flier now. Let's flash back to Week 1 which was the 2nd year man from Baylor's last full game. He was Deshone Kizer's most targeted receiver and reeled in 5 catches for 53 yards and a TD against a Steelers team that has since proven to be very stingy against WR's. The Browns have still not found any congruity in the receiving corp and Coleman should go right back to his WR1 role for the team.

Other Deep-league considerations: Robert Woods LAR, Terrance Williams DAL, Erick Decker TEN, Tavarres King NYG, Josh Doctson WAS, Taylor Gabriel ATL, Marquise Goodwin SF

Both Gerald Everett (pictured) and Tyler Higbee  could be decent streaming TE's in Week 10.

Both Gerald Everett (pictured) and Tyler Higbee could be decent streaming TE's in Week 10.

TIGHT ENDS

Tyler Kroft CIN 8.9 Week 9 points. Available in 57% of leagues. Since Tyler Eifert went down in Week 3 the third year TE from Rutgers has averaged 10 fantasy points a game, scoring 5.8 points as a low which is huge for a TE. With 3 of the top 7 fantasy TE's being on bye this week Kroft should be the top add at the position, and might earn a spot even after your weekly starter returns.

Ram's TE's Tyler Higbee 7.3 Week 9 points. Available in 97% of leagues. Gerald Everett 6.2 Week 9 points. Available in 99% of leagues. These 2 are almost statistical clones of one another. Although Higbee has been out-targeted 29 to 15 on the season, Everett has outgained him. Either one could be a decent deep-league streamer with Houston giving up 12.3 points on average and being ranked 27th against TE's.

Garrett Celek SF 1.8 Week 9 points. Available in 100% of leagues. This is not pro-Celek move, this is an anti-Giants move. New York has given up a TD to a TE in EVERY game this year. With George Kittle almost certainly missing the game you can't help but play those odds.

DEFENSE/SPECIAL TEAMS

Tennessee 6 Week 9 points. Available in 76% of leagues. In the 4 games since the Titans were blown out by the Texans in Week 4 their defense has only allowed 14 points a game and has racked up 6 sacks and 6 INT's in that span. The Bengals best offensive weapon AJ Green will be suspended for the first half which could make for a long 30 minutes for Andy Dalton against the hot Tennessee defense.

MCM - I love you Jared Goff!

The NFL turned into the WWE on Sunday. AJ Green, Jalen Ramsey, Mike Evans, and Carlos Hyde all jumped into the action. Luckily, there were a few guys that actually played well also.

Jared Goff has been exactly what everyone expected this season, well, at least what I expected.

Jared Goff has been exactly what everyone expected this season, well, at least what I expected.

QB

Jared Goff (LAR) - 28.4 points

He’s been on this list before, and, if he keeps playing this way, will be again. West coast teams don’t typically play well when they go to the east and play the early slate. Goff went 311 and 4 instead of falling on his face. I love being right.

  • FN Advice: High end streaming option

RB

Corey Clement (Phi) - 24.6 points

Clement just had the best game of his career. 2 scores and double digits carries was nice, but with Ajayi in Philly, don’t expect this again.

  • FN Advice: Speculative add only.

WR

Robert Woods (LAR) - 19 points

Woods has been playing second fiddle to Sammy Watkins for a long time. He signed with LA to be the #1 option, and the Rams trade for Sammy. Woods has been better than Watkins this season, and that should continue.

  • FN Advice: Flex option depending on matchup.

TE

Trey Burton (Phi) - 10.1 points

Simple equation for Burton, if Ertz isn’t playing, add Burton. This TE combo looks a lot like Reed/Davis in Washington.

  • FN Advice: Only add when Ertz is out

I guess everyone is really stressed about the holidays, having family around makes a lot of people want to fight.

I ADD-ore You

We survived one bye week horror story, now it’s time for the second. I hope everyone ended the week without too many issues on their rosters. Luckily for me, I don’t draft Packers! This week seems to be a little easiest on my rosters to get guys to fill in. Here are some guys that should be able to help.

Stream Weaver

QB

Jared Goff (LAR) @ NYG  - 26.7%

Goff has been better than anyone could have hoped for this season. He is off the bye, which is the only reason I will recommend a west coast team heading to the east coast, playing the early slate. The Giants are 27th against the QB, and Goff has had a week off to remember Sammy Watkins is on the team.

Jacoby Brissett (Ind) @ Hou - 11.1%

Brissett hasn’t been absolutely horrific (14th QB). Houston is losing 2 of it’s best defenders, and has a new offense that wants to have shoot outs with everyone. Houston is 29th against the QB, yeah, that’s not good, unless you’re a Brissett truther.

Jay Cutler v Oak - 4.3%

No, seriously. Miami just traded Jay Ajayi to Philly, so their best RB is more of a pass catching guy. The Raiders are bad at defense and seem to only be getting worse. If Cutler doesn’t start, Matt Moore is fine here also.

RB

Alex Collins (Bal) @ Ten - 32.2%

Collins is an every week play now. Tennessee hasn’t been bad against the run, but Collins has shown that he’s that good. Collins should be over 80% owned from this point out.

Darren McFadden (Dal) v KC - 34.7% and Alfred Morris (Dal) v KC - 30%

Until you know which RB it’s going to be, you need to try to get both. My personal opinion is that it’s going to be McFadden, but, who the heck knows for sure. Dallas is  going to run the ball and still have a good offensive line.

Orleans Darkwa (NYG) v LAR - 39.3%

Darkwa gets the Rams this week and the 49ers next. He looks to be the guy in NY, so, swallow hard and pick up Darkwa.

WR

Sterling Shepard (NYG) v LAR - 58.7%

Shepard doesn’t necessarily have the best matchup this week, but he’s the top option at WR in NY now. He should be added in at least all 12+ team leagues.

Josh Doctson (Was) @ Sea - 28%

Yeah, he’s going to Seattle to play, but, if he’s going to the opposite side of Sherman, he’s Washington’s most talented WR. He’s shown to be a TD machine.

Cole Beasley (Dal) v KC - 22.6%

With Zeke gone, expect Dak to go to his safety blanket. KC doesn’t have a very good defense, and Beasley could get a very high volume.

TE

Jack Doyle (Ind) @ Hou - 39.5%

Jack Doyle has become a plug and play TE. Doyle should be added everywhere.

Vernon Davis (Was) @ Sea - 13.8%

When Jordan Reed doesn’t play, you should absolutely play Vernon Davis.

Tyler Higbee (LAR) @ NYG - 1%

Giants are going to give up a TD to a TE, might as well be Higbee

DEF

Arizona Cardinal @ SF - 30.4%

The 49ers are not quite led by a QB to be scared of. CJ Beathard for at least 1 more week

Detroit Lions @ GB - 46.8%

The Lions make and give up big plays. Hundley should be able to do both for the Lions D.

Los Angeles Rams @ NYG - 52.3%

The Giants offense isn’t good, at all.

Nice Stash

Teddy Bridgewater (Min) - 1.9% - Two QB must at this point

Jimmy Garoppolo (SF) - .9% -   He’s going to be a good starter, soon.

Paxton Lynch (Den) - .2% - He’s going to end up the Broncos QB

Marlon Mack (Ind) - 29% - Lost season, might as well make Mack matter.

Dion Lewis (NE) - 49% - NE is seeing that he's the best back in NE

Kenyon Drake (Mia) - .4% - Someone has to play in Miami, he was drafted by Gase

Cooper Kupp (LAR) - 39.67% - He’s Goff’s guy

Corey Davis (Ten) - 24% - He’ll be a top 30 WR from here out.

JuJu Smith-Schuster (Pit) - 29.3% - He’s the new Martavis Bryant

Willie Snead (NO) - 56% - He has to eventually play, right?

Greg Olsen (Car) - 42.1% - He’s coming back soon, add him now

Everyone on this list is 60% owned or below. I hope that you’ve been able to withstand all of the byes. There is light at the end of the tunnel

MCM - on a Tuesday

This Sunday was one of the best sports days I can remember. Of course, I was playing in a softball tournament for the first half of it, so I didn’t get to enjoy the first half of it. Football all day, and baseball all night!

QB

Josh McCown (NYJ) - 18.2 points

FanRag Sports.jpg

He just keeps putting up numbers. McC ended as the 4th QB this week. He’s really not THIS good, but, as fantasy players, we don’t care how good you are, as long as you’re throwing. Someone forgot to tell Josh the Jets are tanking.

  • FN Advice: Streaming option only

RB

Alex Collins (Bal) - 14.3 points

Field Gulls.jpg

Collins was going to have to produce this game if he was going to ever really get a chance. TNF and against a run defense that could be beat. He did just that, produce. 113 on the ground was nice to see. Expect a TD soon. I wonder if the Seahawks could use a RB like Collins...

  • FN Advice: Should be added everywhere. He is the best back in Baltimore

WR

JuJu Smith-Schuster (Pit) - 25.3 points

AP.jpg

This one hurts my soul a little bit. Detroit had the Steelers pinned back and it was 3rd down. JuJU then went 97 yards. Very sad day for me, great for fantasy (I did have in a couple places). JuJu ended with almost 200 yards and a score, well done for a guy that is, self proclaimed, slow!

  • FN Advice: JuJu is a solid flex consideration every week

TE

Jack Doyle (Ind) - 18.1 points

Doyle was a thing going into drafts, then he wasn’t, now he is again. Brissett has been looking Doyle’s way in a big way lately. 12 for 121 and a TD is just the latest maturation of that

Indy Star.JPG
  • FN Advice: Doyle is a low end TE1

We survived one bye, bye, bye week, lets hope to survive another.

Shane's Week 8 Rankings

Bye-pocalypse Part 1 is upon us. The SIX teams on bye Week 8 are: Arizona Cardinals, Green Bay Packers, Jacksonville Jaguars, Los Angeles Rams, New York Giants, Tennessee Titans

I use half-point PPR as my logic as it can be used to help set a lineup in both standard and PPR leagues.

Andy Dalton has been his typical frustrating fantasy-self this season, but may be a decent streaming option against a Colts Defense that is 31st against QB's.

I ADDore You - Week 8

Shane decided that going on an anniversary with his wife was more important than football, fantasy football, and writing a waiver wire piece, I agree with him. Congratulations to you and your lovely bride young man.

It’s been a few minutes since I’ve written a waiver piece, so, this will probably be awesome!

Stream Weaver

QB

Case Keenum (Min) @ Cle (in London) - 10.9%

Case Keenum is a butt of a few jokes, but he is a gunslinger. This is likely his last start for the Vikings this season, so expect him to show off the goods. It doesn’t hurt that he’s playing against the Browns.

Andy Dalton (Cin) v Ind - 32.9%

Yes, Andy threw a ball away when it was 4th down. He wasn’t playing against the atrocious Colts team though. Malik Hooker, who was looking like a potential DROY, is out, so a bad defense just got worse. Andy Dalton plays well and there’s no AJ McCarron talk for one more week.

Tyrod Taylor (Buf) v Oak - 59.3%

T-Mobile in line for another good week

T-Mobile in line for another good week

No Streaming segment would be complete without Taylor being on it. Playing against Oakland this week makes for another great matchup.

RB

Rob Kelley (Was) v Dal - 59.4%

Kelley is the starting back in Washington when healthy. He hasn’t been healthy for the past few weeks, but expect him to play and play well against Dallas. He’s not only a good play for this week, but a good guy to have on your roster for the rest of the year.

Matt Forte (NYJ) v Atl - 49.9%

Forte is the best RB in the Jets backfield, when healthy, and when they decide to give him the ball. Forte took some injury time off, so he is fresher than usual at this time of the year. Atlanta has some problems, Jets will stay competitive, so Forte will stay involved.

Alex Collins (Bal) v Mia (TNF) - 32.5%

 This is Collins week

This is Collins week

Typically, TNF are running back games. This year is doing it’s best to buck that trend. With that said, I believe this will be a running game, and Collins and Ajayi will be the stars of the game.

WR

Tyrell Williams (LAC) @ NE - 54.9%

The Patriots have seemed to somewhat fix the defense. With that said, Rivers isn’t afraid. Expect a lot of offense in this game. Williams should be able to get loose for a big play or two

Josh Doctson (Was) v Dal - 13.3%

 Doctson is the real deal

Doctson is the real deal

Doctson looks like he’s the best big play wide out in Washington. Former first round pick, and touted as the best WR coming out of that draft. Pryor hasn’t been good, it’s time for Doctson to become the man.

Bennie Fowler (Den) @ KC - 10.2%

DT should be showed by Marcus Peters, we saw last week what the WR on the other side does to KC. Fowler is low end, but could pay off HUGE.

TE

Austin Hooper (Atl) @ NYJ - 48.6%

Hooper is due for a big game. It doesn’t hurt that this week his opponent is the Jets.

George Kittle (SF) @ Phi - 13.8%

It's nice to have your college QB with you

It's nice to have your college QB with you

Kittle went to school with CJ Beathard. Pretty easy to say, safety blanket. Philly is going to get after the 9ers, so except a lot of dump offs to Kittle

Tyler Kroft (Cin) v Ind - 10.8%

If Andy is going to have big week, multiple pass catchers will also. Kroft should be one of them

DEF

New Orleans Saints v Chi - 49%

There is no bigger fan of what Lattimore has done for the Saints defense than me.

There is no bigger fan of what Lattimore has done for the Saints defense than me.

The Saints are good...the Bears are not

Cincinnati Bengals v Ind - 35.6%

Burfict wasn’t suspended, Andrew Luck isn’t coming through the doors anytime soon for the Colts.

Miami Dolphins @ Bal - 35.1%

TNF usually is good for running games and defenses. It’ll happen this week.

Nice Stash

Teddy Bridgewater (Min) - 1.9% - Two QB must at this point

Marlon Mack (Ind) - 26.5% - Lost season, might as well make Mack matter.

Dion Lewis (NE) - 20.4% - NE is seeing that he's the best back in NE

Cooper Kupp (LAR) - 40.7% - He’s Goff’s guy

Corey Davis (Ten) - 23.3% - He’ll be a top 30 WR from here out.

Davis will end as the top scoring rookie WR

Davis will end as the top scoring rookie WR

Everyone on this list is 60% owned or below. I hope that you’ve been able to withstand all of these injuries. Sometimes it’s hard to watch.

Trashy Tuesday

It's been a few weeks since I've had one (between work, travel and being sick there's not been time), but it's back again!

FYI, the San Francisco 49ers are a pain to watch in person as I experienced firsthand in their loss to the Washington Redskins. I was there for Beathard's debut and the kid was impressive and has a bright future ahead of him, but I wish he had a better supporting cast. At least John Lynch and Kyle Shanahan are working on six-year contracts and have a chance to get him what he deserves.

Anyways, on to this week's "honorees."

MitchellTrubisky.jpg

QB -- Mitchell Trubisky, Bears. It's not because he only put up 4.6 points on Sunday, but it's because only threw SEVEN passes in a complete game. SEVEN. Quarterbacks in Pee Wee football throw more than that! I'm pretty sure Comanche High School throws more than that -- and the Indians run a Wing-T offense! Trubisky threw for 107 yards with Tarik Cohen providing 70 of them on one play. He didn't have a good day at all, but part of that is on the coaching staff, but the Bears also only ran 37 plays on offense and were 2-11 on third down. Trubisky was also sacked four times and barely outscored Dallas backup Cooper Rush who got garbage time action in a 40-10 Dallas win at San Francisco.

AP.jpg

RB -- Adrian Peterson, Cardinals. Carson Palmer broke an arm and Arizona needed to rely on its ground game to establish something on offense to control the clock and keep up with an explosive Rams offense. Enter Peterson and his awesome 4.3 fantasy points. Wait, that's not establishing a ground game. Peterson was expected to flourish after his trade out of the Big Easy, and after his coming out game last week, the veteran finished with 11 carries for 21 yards in a 33-0 loss. He also only had one catch despite being targeted four times. The Cardinals are on bye this week, so see how he gets used in Week 9 against San Francisco before deciding on if you should drop him or not if he's owned.

Braysnt.jpg

WR -- Martavis Bryant, Steelers. Choose your reason as to why he is here -- there's the one catch for three yards, one carry for two yards or the 1.5 points he posted. You could could also go with him calling in "sick" to work on Monday if you chose. All in all, Bryant accounted for just five yards when the Steelers gained 420 yards as a team -- which given his history would have been grounds for another suspension.

TE -- Rob Gronkowski, Patriots. Gronk just hasn't been consistent this year as he's had three games with 22+ points and then games with 5.3 points (KC), a game he missed due to injury (@TB) and then only had 8.1 points in Sunday night's Super Bowl LI rematch against the Atlanta Falcons. He had just three catches on seven targets for 51 yards and no scores. He was the 20th ranked tight end this week heading into Monday night.

raiders.jpg

D/ST -- Raiders. For the second time in three weeks, the Raiders D/ST cost you points if you started them as they allowed 30 points to the Chiefs. It was also the third time in the last month that Oakland failed to force a turnover. Oakland also recorded just one sack of Kansas City quarterback Alex Smith and have a matchup with the Buffalo Bills looming this week. All told, the Raiders have a combined 0 points in the last three weeks.

K -- Dan Bailey, Cowboys. He pulled a groin and the Cowboys had to turn to safety Jeff Heath for kickoffs and extra points. Heath wound up making as many extra points in the game as Bailey did (although eventful as one clanged off the upright and one missed the kicking net altogether) and now Bailey is expected to be out for "several weeks."

MCM - Week 7

MCM - Week 7

I really don’t like that every week ends with players going on the IR. This week was no exception. Carson Palmer might be done for his career, and Jay Cutler is gone for a couple weeks at the very least. Here’s to hoping next week ends with lots of scoring, a Vikings and Packers loss, and no one seriously hurt

QB

 Yup, another FSU kid

Yup, another FSU kid

Jameis Winston (TB) - 23.2 points

Winston was questionable all week to play. I was asked whether to start him or Josh McCown, I chose McCown, Dolphins defense is a little easier than the Bills. In standard scoring, McCown did outscore Winston but you did well either way. Winston balled out against the Bills though, especially for fantasy purposes. Oh, and where did Winston go to school?

  • FN Advice: Winston is a low end QB1, that should be more of an on roster streamer

RB

His name is TJ, he was a lock

His name is TJ, he was a lock

TJ Yeldon (Jax) - 19.7 points

Yeldon finally got into a game and it paid off big for the Jags. 9 carries for 122 and a score. Most of that was on 1 run, but, it counts all the same. Yeldon took advantage of Founette being out in a big way.

  • FN Advice: Yeldon is nothing more than a potential Fournette handcuff

WR

Amari Cooper (Oak) - 33 points

Keep catching more than you drop

Keep catching more than you drop

Cooper has a problem with drops, he dropped 2 balls on TNF. However, he caught 11 for over 200 yards and a couple house calls. Cooper is a massive talent that needs to work a little more on his focus, when he does, he’s a superstar

  • FN Advice: Cooper is back into the WR2 conversation

TE

Jason Witten (Dal) - 11.4 points

Witten is an oldy but goody. The TD catch was a beautiful one handed thing. Witten just keeps plugging along and there is something to be said about that. Believe it or not, he’s a top 10 TE for the season.

 Old man strength x 2

Old man strength x 2

  • FN Advice: Witten is a TE streamer that, like most TEs, hopes for a TD

Week 8 will be the week of health! Speak life and declare it!
