Week 5 marks the beginning of Bye Weeks giving the Waiver Wire all that much more priority as we start to realize that we may not be able to piece together starting lineup with the pieces we have.

QUARTERBACKS

Philip Rivers LAC 23.9 Week 4 points. Available in 33% of leagues. Usually 33% availability doesn't warrant appearance in a Waiver column but it should absolutely be 100% with his upcoming matchups...plus, I can't focus on the next guy every week. Rivers next 4 weeks include the Giants, Raiders, Broncos, and Patriots, 3 of 4 of which are in the bottom third of the league against QB's and the only scary game in there (Denver) Rivers threw for 3 TD's and racked up 20 fantasy points against Week 1 in Denver. Take a peak to see if the veteran gunslinger is hanging out on your wire because he's probably a better alternative than who you will be starting.

Jared Goff LAR 20.1 Week 4 points. Available in 87% of leagues. He fell to #11 but he is still WIDELY available. Although Week 5 game versus Seattle may not be best time to stream him, he still deserves a spot on a roster in every league.

Aaron Jones had a 13 carry 49 yard 1 TD performance against Chicago on Thursday when Ty Montgomery went down with a rib injury.

RUNNING BACKS

Aaron Jones GB 10.9 Week 4 points. Available in 99% of leagues. The 6th round rookie from UTEP stepped in and immediately contributed when Ty Montgomery suffered a rib injury. Although Montgomery's injury may not be as severe as initially thought, a post-game ringing endorsement from Aaron Rodgers might be enough to keep him on fantasy radar, especially going against the Cowboys in Week 5.

Latavius Murray MIN 3.9 Week 4 points. Available in 83% of leagues. Another injury plug-in, unfortunately this one will be much more long term. The Viking's sensational rookie RB Dalvin Cook suffered a torn ACL on Sunday and will miss remainder of season. This give's the former Raider Murray a chance to earn back some of his 3 year $15 million contract he signed when he was anticipated to be the starter. The only risk to Murray taking the main role is Jerrick McKinnon (who is worth a flier in deep PPR formats), but McKinnon has never performed well as feature back.

D'Onta Foreman HOU 4.5 Week 4 points. Available in 76% of leagues. Although Foreman hasn't had his "breakout" week, he does have something that is incredibly prized in Waiver RB's: consistent usage. He has averaged 11 carries a game over the last 3 weeks and has shown himself to be a very serviceable pass catcher. With the Texans losing Tyler Ervin for the remainder of the year, Foreman's use should increase even more.

Handcuffs/Fliers you should watch: Wayne Gallman NYG, Elijah McGuire NYJ, JJ McKissic SEA

WIDE RECEIVERS

Adam Humphries TB 10 Week 4 points. Available in 99% of leagues. It seems DeSean Jackson and Jameis Winston aren't developing chemistry as quickly as many hoped, as Humphries has matched his target total of 20 and out-caught him 14-9 through 3 weeks. The Buccaneers offense has not been near as vertical as a preseason glance at their roster might have indicated but Humphries has been a steady bright spot. He has 2 straight games of 6 catches and two straight 9+ point performances without scoring a touchdown, which will come with Winston's reliance on him.

Deonte Thompson CHI 6.9 Week 4 points. Available in 99% of leagues. Thompson has had a so-so 2017 campaign on a TERRIBLE Bears offense, but he is worth a flier for one reason. Mitchell Trubisky is starting for at least Week 5, and probably farther. We don't know if Trubisky will be an upgrade from Glennon, but Thompson was his most targeted receiver in the preseason. In a WR corp that is completely wide open on a team that will be playing from behind most likely every game, Thompson should have value.

Other deep league considerations: Aldrick Robinson SF, Trent Taylor SF, Cordarelle Patterson OAK, Josh Bellamy CHI, Justin Hardy ATL, Michael Campanaro BAL

Even at 37 years old, Antonio Gates is still a favorite target in the Chargers pass game.

TIGHT ENDS

Antonio Gates LAC 3.3 Week 4 points. Available in 85% of leagues. See Philip Rivers above. Gates has not had exactly a marquis year, but he has at least produced every game, which is more than can be said for his TE counterpart Hunter Henry, many Fantasy drafter's preseason TE darling. Gates has a Week 5 matchup with the New York Giants, which are dead last in Fantasy against TE's.

Give'em one more week: Tyler Kroft CIN, AJ Derby DEN, Darren Fells DET

DEFENSE/SPECIAL TEAMS

San Francisco 7 Week 4 points. Available in 98% of leagues. They are playing the Colts. Oh...I have to keep going? Well aside from the Week 3 surprising shootout with the Rams, the 49ers defense has been surprisingly productive. With 6 sacks in Week 4, this matchup against Indianapolis is a sneaky top 10 play.
